Facing the Little Sea of Gâvres, Riantec is one of those peaceful villages typical of Brittany where it is pleasant to settle down for a change of scenery during your stay. Sea, calm and marked gastronomy make this seaside resort a must for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the heart of Brittany.

Definitely facing the sea, Riantec owes its name to the river that crosses it, the Riant. Quiet and relatively uninhabited even in the high summer months, this small Breton town has many assets up its sleeve to enable you to enjoy a good holiday. First of all, it is undeniably open to nature: thus, the municipality has many hiking routes, both in its lands and by the sea. From Kérastel, Clos Calvé, via the Imperial Voice, the paths of Locjean, the GR34 (which crosses the whole of Brittany from north to south) and the routes along the Anse de Kerner, you will discover what makes the history and heritage of Riantec. You will cross the Dolmen de Kelporel road, pass through the Kerdurand Park, the Kerbel Lighthouse, the Sainte-Radegonde fountain (which was once covered by the sea twice a day), the Château de Kerdurand, the Island of Kerner and its beaches, the Île aux Pins (very wild), not to mention making a detour to the oyster parks. Facing the sea, more than 9 kilometres of hiking trails also await walkers for beautiful iodized walks: at dawn and dusk, it is from these coastal trails that the views of the sea are most magnificent.

A paradise for cockles, periwinkles and clams, Riantec conquers lovers of iodine flavours thanks to its immense mudflats where fishing fans love to indulge in their favourite activity all year round. At high tide, however, this small sea on the "Côte Rouge" becomes a vast playground for those who love sliding, who come to enjoy sailing, paddle or dinghy. As for swimming, to find beautiful and long beaches, you will have to go to the neighbouring communes of Port-Louis and Gâvres, easily accessible by car or via hiking and cycling routes. The Grande Plage de Port-Louis is located behind the citadel and its fortifications: nicknamed the "Plage Royale" because it was artificially created at the request of King Louis-Philippe's wife, it is an elegant beach, lined with bathing cabins and a restaurant where visitors flock to enjoy delicious seafood with a view over the sea. The Grande Plage de Gâvres beach will satisfy the desires of water sports enthusiasts. Well equipped, and much appreciated for its fine sand, it is the ideal place for family swimming breaks, and will allow you to learn a wide choice of sliding sports, from sand yachts to kitesurfing, without forgetting catamarans, kayaks or optimist, so many activities taken from adults and children.

The geographical position is ideal for the small restaurants of Port-Louis ("L'atelier", "Le Wind" for good affordable dishes or "Reine Suzette" for cakes), town centres or supermarkets nearby. Mid-season ideal to avoid crowds, but it seems that some shops take their holidays at the end of June/beginning of July...
