East of the Côte d'Azur, near the Italian border, Menton deserves its nickname of Eden of the French Riviera. Under the generous Mediterranean climate, it combines the assets of a city of Art and History and the incredible beauty of its natural site.
With more than 315 days of sun a year, Menton invites you to enjoy the pleasures of the sea almost all year round. To bathe, you will have the choice between the beaches close to the historical center (Fossan, Sablettes, Casino) and those located near the city (Borrigo, Hawaii, Rondelli). If you enjoy water sports, you will be delighted by the variety of activities on offer : water skiing, wakeboarding, sea kayaking, jet skiing, flyboarding, towed equipment... But you can also offer yourself a first dive on amazing sites (wrecks, drop offs...) or a walk at sea, along the Riviera, between Monaco and Italy.
Then discover the exceptional heritage of Menton. In the old town, you will inevitably fall under the spell of the narrow medieval streets and small squares with ochre colours. At the bend of a passage, you can admire the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel, built between 1640 and 1653 and a real jewel of Baroque art. But you can also see the superb colourful building of Les Halles and, a hundred metres away, one of the city's emblems : the Bastion. This defence tower, built on the sea between 1636 and 1639, was rehabilitated by Jean Cocteau and today houses a museum dedicated to the poet. Not far from there, a second museum, also dedicated to Cocteau, invites you to discover nearly 2000 works in a very beautiful building built in 2011.
With its remarkable gardens (Serre de la Madone, Val Rahmeh...), Menton offers pleasant opportunities to stroll while discovering many exotic plants. On the heights of the city, also visit another emblem of the city : the monastery of the Annonciade. Built in the 17th century, it is accessible from the city centre via the Rosary Road, which has 464 steps. On the way, you will see the Citroneraie which will remind you of the importance of this golden fruit in the history of the city. At the end of the day, sit on the terrace of a good restaurant by the sea and taste the local specialities : fougasses, pichades, socca, farcis, barbajuans...

* Private beach + restaurant "L'Heos" to recommend (very good service and very well eaten for a very reasonable price)! * We went to several restaurants (including "Les Enfants Terribles", "Tony", etc...) where we ate very well * The pizzeria "Frontière" run by Alain, who prepares the best croissants I have ever eaten, has a superb wine cellar and is very friendly!

The walk of the customs officers to be done on foot in the morning (good sun exposure), between Roquebrune Cap Martin and Monaco. The village of Peillon to be discovered and climbed by the path: superb view... Restaurant "La Coupole" in Menton : nice welcome, good table. Same for the restaurant "Paris Palace", and all the magic of the French Riviera...
