As for swimming in the sea, you will have to go to the famous Dune du Pilat (located in the seaside resort of Pyla-sur-Mer, which belongs to La Teste-de-Buch). Ranked since 1994, this highest dune in Europe impresses by its size as well as by the breathtaking panorama it offers from its summit (106 metres above sea level) over the entire Arcachon Basin, the Banc d'Arguin, Cap Ferret and the surrounding forests.
