Looking for a holiday in the open air, in natural places of unspoilt beauty ? Head for Brittany ! Plescop is located 5 minutes northwest of Vannes. Plescop is ideally located just a few cables from the Gulf of Morbihan and is the ideal place for a family holiday, conquering the beaches, lands and legends of Brittany.
Welcoming and friendly, Plescop is a dynamic city. An ideal place to settle down and discover the region, the commune is not lacking in interest thanks to the 50 associations that animate the life of its flowery districts. It can be visited on foot as well as by bicycle, and you will certainly discover the remains of Breton history during your walks : the chapel of Saint Hamon and that of Lezurgan, both dating from the middle of the 15th century, but also the Saint Simon fountain and the megalithic domain of Palastre are the main remarkable sites of Plescop that you will have to visit.
After a tour of the city, set off to discover the wonderful sites only a few kilometres away. Only fifteen minutes from Plescop, swimming enthusiasts can enjoy afternoons of idleness on the beach of Vannes. Superbly preserved, Conleau beach is very popular. Right in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan, it is located in a lively district, where you can take advantage of the presence of many brands to eat. Not far from there is the Natural Reserve of the Marshes of Senna : during the afternoon, walk in this ornithological site, where young and old can observe the local fauna and flora. Walk along the ramparts of Vannes, and in the Gardens of Garenne for a little calm and freshness.
Facing Vannes is one of the most beautiful bays in the world : that of the Gulf of Morbihan. The main destination of Southern Brittany, it can be visited on foot, by bike or on horseback, through countless hiking routes. At sunrise and sunset, the spectacle of lights over the Gulf is breathtaking. A dream place for sailing, it is also the favourite place for lovers of nautical activities, who will be able to enjoy fishing, sailing, snorkelling, bodyboarding, wakeboarding, kayaking, diving and even sailing on an old rig.
15 kilometres from Plescop is Île aux Moines : a real pearl of the Gulf, its unique and absolutely magnificent flora is well worth a trip to observe. Its small white houses, cottages, dolmens, oyster fields and unique views of the coast can be discovered by bicycle, the preferred means of transport for the island's inhabitants.
From Plescop it is easy to get to Carnac, which is only 25 kilometres away. For a discovery of mystical Brittany, Carnac and its alignments are an address of choice. A land of legend known worldwide for its rows of megaliths 4 kilometres long and over 7000 years old, Carnac is an essential holiday destination for those wishing to visit this magnificent corner of Brittany.
Don't miss the Quiberon peninsula, 40 kilometres from Plescop. Disconcerting, surprising, Quiberon will surprise you by its air of end of the world : from its coast, you will have an impregnable panorama on the sea and the blue horizon as far as the eye can see. Kitesurfing, cycling, swimming and idleness will certainly be part of your excursions.
Finally, if Plescop and its region are visited, they can also be tasted around good meals. The local specialities are numerous, you will absolutely have to taste the oysters, the Breton white wine, its cider, its artichokes, without forgetting its essential pancakes. Whether sweet or salty, made from buckwheat or wheat, crepe is to Breton culture what Maroilles is to the north of France: in-dis-pen-sable. Accompanied by a bowl of cider, salted butter or andouille de Guéméné, one thing is certain : you can't escape !
